EDGE / PRIVATE VIEW 01.03.12

Come along to the exhibition Private View this Thursday from 6pm at The Stour Space, Hackney Wick! Featuring the work of Kingston graphic design and illustration final year students. See work in progress here.
We were very proud to have our invites featured on It's Nice That this week. Here's what they said:
'I’m of the belief that the invitation can make or break an event, and these little concept-envelopes for next week’s The Edge of Print exhibition get an A+ in the “makes-me-wanna-go-to-that” category. This group of Kingston design students have created promotional material which is as much an expression of their ideals as it is a beautiful object. Edge explores the union between the digital and the physical in the world of print – likewise the envelope an the card cannot convey their message without working together. A lovely little concept, executed to a T!'

No more excuses...
The Hövding
designed by Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin
'The sensors that cause the helmet to inflate and pop up over the cyclist’s head are sensitive enough to detect when a rider is falling over the handlebars, but not so sensitive that they’ll cause an embarrassing inflation when bending over or turning around to look over one’s shoulder.'
Suzie Templeton
There's something about Templeton's models that reminds me of those dusty, life-size figures you get at museums you used to go on school trips to. I find them really creepy and compelling. This film feels grippingly bleak, I've watched it so many times already! Poor Danny.

Peter Potato and Alice Apple
Only just realised the Garden Gang series was entirely written and illustrated by Jayne Fisher when she was nine! Pretty good i reckon.
